“How to Evaluate a Classic Car” – Session 1

Evaluating a car prior to purchase is more than just ‘kicking the tires’, and in this session we hope to give you valuable tips on what to look for, potential pitfalls, and specific procedures you can perform to ensure you know what you’re getting into… before you hand over your hard-earned cash. We will cover a wide range of areas including engine, transmission, suspension, electrics, body, and chassis, and we’ll point out areas that are often overlooked when checking out a potential purchase. PMGC member Kevin McLemore will be presenting this session. Over the past 50 years Kevin has bought and sold more than 45 British cars for his own collection, and he has served as a purchasing consultant & evaluator for numerous other collectors. 

As a part of this tech session we will also be doing compression tests on several MGBs belonging to members, in preparation for John Twist’s visit.
